Rhino Spiral Rugby Ball
Created in partnership with Rugby World Cup-winning kicking coach Dave Alred, who has worked with the likes of Jonny Wilkinson, Johnny Sexton and Beauden Barrett, the Rhino Spiral Ball is designed to specifically help coach the spiral kick.
The ball is designed to a high-level match-standard, ensuring there are no flaws in the flight, but with the addition of two red coaching bands. Dave Alred explains: “The point of the red bands is to make sure we make a clean contact with the belly of the ball. When a person holds the ball it must be held between these bands and, if you want to hit a spiral, you point the ball to one o’clock (if you’re right-footed) and then drive your foot up between them, not touching either.”
The spiral kick is a potent attacking weapon for any side because, if executed properly, it’s very difficult for players of every level to defend.
